"Paradise" - above and below
This is my latest art glass creation. Paradise - above and below depicts a tropical seascape featuring a curved dimensional glimpse above and below the water line. Several processes were involved in it's creation including, painting, fusing, slumping, and sand carving, and measures 21" x 21".
This was a fun piece to create.

"In For The Catch"
This is the latest piece I've just completed. It was a special request. It is a fused and painted panel and was framed in a black frame. The actual panel is lighter than pictured here, as this is a picture taken while I was working the paint in the head section, with a small light directly behind it.

Bubblefishous

Hi guys!
My current project is a 12" x 18" fused painted panel called "Bubblefishous". It features a single Koi amongst water lilies and bubbles. Here is the current last pic of it in progress. In this pic, the second matt layer of paint was applied to be fired. Once that is completed, the line details of the fish and other areas if needed will be added. This is viewing it from the backside.

Artisans Of Glass Forum
It's been almost 2 months now and we have 67 members and going strong. Our postings are on the rise and there is quite a bit of activity on the board with many projects on the go. We have added a new category containing an area for exchanging equipment or supplies, and a place for selling as well.
I can't thank all the wonderful members and admin team members enough for their support in getting this new forum off the ground. Your interest and efforts make it possible for all the enjoyment we get form AOG. Without you, we are nothing.
Thanks!!!!!

"Swift Current"

This is my current project. It's entitled "Swift Current". This panel is being constructed using the lead came method, and will have a bit of wire detail for the fishing rod. It's an original design, and since I am somewhat new to lead work, a learning experience as well.
The 2nd pic shows it up to the point of being soldered. The 3rd pic is the completed panel except for the framing to be added soon. The cementing and the adding of the fishing pole was completed in the 3rd pic.

A Sense of Vivaldi

This is my latest creation. It is called "A Sense Of Vivaldi" because it is comprised of 4 panels with one representing each season, alas..the 4 Seasons as in Vivaldi's works.
This series was grouped together in a vertical arrangement starting with spring and ending with winter. The panels are fused glass with painted details, and mainly comprised of woodland settings. The finished pieces were encased in a black light box and hung on my dining room wall. I was very pleased with the finished end result, and look forward to doing more in a similar fashion.
The progress of this piece from start to finish can be seen at artisansofglass.com

Artisans Of Glass Forum
Unfortunately my initial forum did not meet up to my expectations in regards to the software. Therefore, at the end of the month it will be closed and locked.
But....(there is always a but),....there is a new fantastic forum I developed to take it's place. It's based on the same platform as SGV and TAGF, so those that are members there will already know their way around.
The new site is called: "Artisans Of Glass" and can be reached at http://www.artisansofglass.com
I hope to see you there.
Kev
PS: This time I know I got it right :)

Current Painted Stained Glass Pieces

Hey guys!
Here are the latest painted pieces I'm currently working on. The rooster is a gift for my sister and is finished. The Mary and Baby Jesus piece is currently a work in progression. I must say I am getting much satisfaction and pleasure working with the kiln and paint. I am using a new technique to me called Vitre Fus'aille which is a process of cutting colored glass and fusing it to a clear base to make a colored base piece to paint. Posted below are pics of the progression of the Mary and Jesus piece. It is not completed yet. I still have to work on the hands and faces.

Here is today's progress. The details of the hands and faces are started with the darkest areas laid in first. Subsequent matts of paint will add additional color and detail.
This post was actually posted Nov. 24 /08, but to keep the sequence correct to follow the progression of the piece, I back-dated it and the time so it would appear after the previous post.
